OVERVIEW
THE CLEAR
LETS GET STARTED!
THE RISK PROJECT
The Clear is an independent film from writer/director J. Christian Lehrbach. After receiving enough financing to green light the project in 2009, director J. Christian Lehrbach used his budget to create a teen love drama with brand new werewolf mythology in an attempt to rival the Twilight sensation. In 2011 REC Films was brought on to create the visual effects seen in the film and assist with the remaining post production efforts. This brought the film to its final theatre premiere in New Hampshire on December of 2012. The film is currently seeking distribution.
The Risk Project is REC Films first project; we were asked by the risk management chair of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity to create a short PSA on by-standard behavior. This was to be financed by the individual and REC Films as a collaborative production. REC Films wrote the script based off bullet points our client had for us that he needed us to touch base on according to his presentations. We assembled these topics and problems into a narrative structure that weaved through the story in a seamless way.
Once the script was approved, we were responsible for producing the film in locking locations such as a hospital, court room and a fraternity house as well as costume design, casting, visual effects and the direction.
Upon completion of the film, it was used to educate the chapters in different states and eventually made a buzz to the top officers of the national fraternity. After viewing what we created for one of their staff members, they decided to make this something that can be shown to all of their chapters throughout the country. In 2013, Tau Kappa Epsilon purchased the rights to the film from REC Films and our client and is now property of the largest national fraternity in the world.
DOSOMETHING.ORG
REC Films was asked to be the production team for DoSomething.org script on texting and driving. This short 15 second PSA was left entirely in our hands to bring their script to life. We shot, edited, color graded, provided visual effects on the car such as green screen keying, logo removal on the Dunkin Donuts box, logo removal on the steering wheel, and blending two separate shots in the car to appear as one take, as well as airbrushed the actors faces with touch ups all in 2 days for the delivery to be shown on FOX network during the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. The car was generously donated for our shoot by Smithtown Toyota to be used in our spot. This was filmed on the Blackmagic 4K Cinema Camera shot in 4K RAW for faster color grading and wider range for edits for client approval.
